历史沿革[edit]
村子清康熙年间立村。新中国成立后属中山县第八区的南门乡；1966年叫下洲大队，由斗门县斗门公社管；1984年改作下洲乡，到1986年成立下洲村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]
名称的由来：村子在明清时期冲积出的沙洲南侧，又处于虎跳门水道下游一侧，立村时便叫「下洲」。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村域约1.895平方千米，山林235.5亩，另有耕地1254.2亩，包括573亩鱼塘、560亩稻田、10亩花卉和209.2亩其他作物。[2]
人口民族[edit]
村里有246户、986人，村民代表12名。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2023年11月，下洲村入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村；2024年4月，村被列入广东省首批乡村振兴示范村创建名单；同年11月，又被确定为2024年度广东省「美丽庭院」特色村。[1]
