此地是一处盆地，三面环山，山水在这里汇集，水源充足，社区因此得名。[1] 社区总人口约4310人，常住户籍753人，流动人口约3600人，另有出租屋2756套。[1]

荣誉[edit]

水头社区在2020年12月名列「2020年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，2022年3月又获认定为「第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区」。[1]
