地名与沿革[edit]
村子沿海岸分布，村前有大沙坝挡住海潮，地处下端，地面全是沙，因此叫下沙。[1] 1958年前归惠阳县，同年11月划给宝安县，编为大鹏公社下沙大队；1983年7月改设下沙乡；1986年10月改为大鹏镇下沙村；1993年起属龙岗区。[1]
安置区[edit]
下沙片区要整体开发，社区因而整体搬迁，九成左右的村民现住在叠福华侨房和王母东西区的临时安置区。[2] 下沙安置区在中山路，占地69234平方米，由上围、下围、高屋围、油草棚4个居民小组组成；有人口2219人，其中户籍656人；旧村面积约6.5万平方米。[2]
荣誉[edit]
下沙社区在2022年3月获认定为「第一批深圳市绿色（宜居）社区」，2024年1月又被确定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」。[1]
