王母社区是大鹏街道下辖的社区，位于大鹏半岛中心地带，面积19.3平方千米，大鹏街道办事处设在这里。[1][2]
2012年12月统计有户籍543户1642人，外来常住人口约1.1万人。[1] 2004年9月成立社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
相传1276年元军南侵，临安陷落，杨太后（名淑，世称王母）带着端宗赵昰、卫王赵昺及陆秀夫、张世杰等人从福州沿海路南逃，经过此地，社区因而得名。[1][3] 1958年人民公社化时归惠阳县第七区；1984年归宝安县大鹏镇；到1993年才有王母村民委员会；2004年9月改设社区居委会。[1]
构成[edit]
社区分9个居民小组，王母围、石禾塘、叠福、岭吓、黄岐塘等都在其中；另有王母、大鹏山庄、岭吓、叠福4个股份合作公司。社区综合党委有18个支部、184名党员。[1] 社区内有王母围古村落。[3]
名胜古迹[edit]
赖恩爵墓原先在大坑山的鸡爬地，1877年（清光绪三年）迁到王岐塘；墓为凸字形，花岗石砌成，由墓冢、享堂、祭台、墓堂和墓道五部分组成，面积1432平方米。[1] 博雅地名网把咸头岭遗址也列在王母社区的周边景点。[1]
