翠竹街道是广东省深圳市罗湖区下辖的街道，办事处设在翠竹路2028号翠竹大厦，辖区面积3.45平方千米，下设10个社区。[1][2]街名取自辖区内的翠竹苑住宅区和翠竹山。[2]辖区内的水贝一带是黄金珠宝批发集聚地，另有市属翠竹公园。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网记载，翠竹街道办事处于1983年12月成立；百度百科则写作1984年1月成立。[1][2]1985年4月，草埔、大望两个行政村并入翠竹街道。[2]1998年罗湖区调整行政区划，东湖、东晓、清水河三个街道先后从翠竹街道分出。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

街道的四至大致是：东面到东晓路、爱国路，西面到文锦路，南面到爱国路与文锦路的交汇处，北面到布心路。[2]气候属南亚热带海洋性季风气候，据博雅地名网所载，年平均气温22.4℃，极端最低1.4℃、最高37.6℃，平均降水量1948.4毫米。[2]

据街道简介，辖区居住人口约20万，常住的约14.1万人（未注明年份）。[2]百度百科的信息栏另录有2010年人口约11.05万。[1]世居村民以讲客家话和粤语为主。[1]

经济[edit]

街道下设水贝、新村两个股份合作公司。[2]水贝一带聚集了大量黄金珠宝企业，百度百科称这里设有水贝国际珠宝交易中心等四个批发场所，年营业收入超过千亿元。[1]同一条目载，2011年全街道规模以上工业总产值为340.6亿元。[1]

翠竹公园在翠竹路1078号，占地45.13公顷，园内种有约一百种竹子，建筑取岭南和客家风格。[1][3]
