民新社区在深圳市罗湖区翠竹街道，名称取自改革开放之初「人民新生活」之意。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
改革开放前，这一带有深圳砖厂（后为建材集团的前身）、深圳罐头厂（后为深宝公司的前身）等厂房和职工住宅。2002年设立社区居委会，沿用民新之名。[1]
