西洞村位于主田镇东南部，辖8个村小组，全村1193人，以水稻为主要作物，果树种植为特色产业[1]。相传整条山洞里的河水自东向西流出，村因此名为西洞[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

西洞在1949年设农会，其后办初级社（1954年）和高级社（1956年），1961年起称大队，1983年建乡，1988年称管理区，1998年改设村委会，沿用至今[1]。

全村270户，农村常住493人，劳动力700人；总面积3.27万亩，山林3.06万亩，水田1530亩；有党员36人、干部5人。博雅地名网记其距镇政府20公里[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，西洞村进入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单[1]。
