历史沿革[edit]
民国时这里属花县复兴乡；中共成立后称儒林乡二村片，1958年为大林乡二村片，1960年因白话与客家话的叫法把「二村片」说成了「两餐片」，行政上与一村片合并，二村处在中心，称二村大队，至1968年才改叫红群大队。1983年冬队制取消，设红群乡；1987年1月起设村民委员会，起初归花山区公所，3月转归花山镇。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村北有一部分林地，其余多是平坦的菜地和农田。辖5个自然村，生产小队有21个；到2009年底，人口合计2616人，以农业为主。[1]
荣誉[edit]
红群村在2020至2022年连续入选淘宝村名单，2019年9月上榜「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2023年8月获「2022年度“广州市美丽乡村”」称号；2026年1月被认定为「2025年广州市充分就业社区（村）」。[1]
