港湾五村社区位于黄埔区中心地带，在港湾路与大沙地东路相交处，是黄埔街道辖下的城市社区，居委会设在港湾东一街。[1][2]“五村”指广州港务局在黄埔兴建的第五处职工生活小区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

70年代起称黄埔街第八居委会，2002年区划调整，改名港湾五村社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

地理环境[edit]

辖区南起港湾路街心公园，沿港湾路至裕港大厦，再沿大沙东路到198号，面积约0.8平方千米，共有8个较为分散的居民小区。[1]

人口民族[edit]

博雅地名网所载介绍（未注明年份）称，社区有住户1517户、居民约3600人，其中户籍住户780户、户籍居民约2600人。[1]

经济[edit]

辖内驻有区公安分局、黄埔街社区服务中心、黄埔街派出所及数家银行网点。[1]2003年社区获评区级文明社区；2007年、2008年两个年度，又获评计划生育“五好居委”。[1]
