70年代起称黄埔街第一居委会，2002年区划调整，改名港湾一村社区居民委员会，沿用至今。[1]

占地约0.08平方千米，东以港湾路为界，南向中山大道，西北与筑港二村、街心公园相邻，是集学校、幼儿园、市场于一体的封闭式小区。[1]
