沙园街道是广东省广州市海珠区下辖的街道，位于海珠区西部，东邻江南中、昌岗两街道，南接南石头街道，北靠龙凤街道，西隔珠江与荔湾区芳村相望，面积约1.5平方千米。[1] 办事处设在昌岗中路83号，下辖10个社区居委会。[1][3] 街名取自境内的沙园村。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

清代至民国期间，这一带归番禺县管辖。新中国成立初期设沙园乡，隶属瑶头镇；1953年，沙园乡与南箕乡（今南石头街一带）合并，成立南边街道。[3]

1960年5月设沙园公社，公社于1961年8月撤销，辖地改设凤凰、沙园两街道。到1985年2月，沙园街道分出一部分，新设昌岗中街道。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

街道位于海珠区西缘，隔珠江前航道与荔湾区相对，亚热带季风气候。各资料对面积的记载略有出入：百度百科、博雅地名网作1.5平方千米，维基百科作1.44平方千米。[1][2][3]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末，街道户籍人口为56876人；第七次全国人口普查（2020年）统计的人口为7.32万人，在海珠区18个街道中居第13位。[1][3]

经济[edit]

据2011年的统计，辖区工业总产值3.77亿元（37688万元），社会商品零售额1.21亿元（12053万元）。[1]

社区设置[edit]

2002年前后，原按序号编排的居委会合并为以地名或小区命名的居委会，如广船、广重、橡胶新村、港海、奋勇、华苑等。2016年8月，光大花园居委会拆分为光大花园北社区和光大花园南社区，居委会由9个增至10个。[2][3]

辖区内有光大花园、橡胶新村、沙园小区等居住区，以及广州市第四十一中学、第四十九中学、菩提路小学、为明广州实验学校，交通方面有广州地铁沙园站、宝岗大道站和昌岗路公交总站。[2]
