潭头镇位于福建省宁德市福安市北部，是福安的农业重镇，辖29个行政村[1][2]。镇名取自村边的一处大水潭，1992年6月由潭头乡改设为镇[3][4]。全镇以茶叶和芙蓉李为主要作物，民间有「芙蓉李之乡」的说法[1][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

1929年这一带属东溪区。1958年7月区被撤并，此地划入棠溪乡，同年9月又并入上白石公社。1960年8月设立潭头人民公社，此后先后改称潭头区、再改回公社。1984年改为潭头乡，1992年6月改设为镇[4][3]。

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于鹫峰山余脉，属山区地形，境内最高处海拔1099.3米。东溪和武陵溪在镇内流过，水能资源较多[3]。

人口与面积[edit]

镇域面积为156平方千米[1]。百度百科所载的2018年户籍人口为38033人[3]。2023年镇政府概况给出的数字是：户籍约3.8万人，常住约1.2万人[1]。维基百科据统计把全镇列为29个行政村[2]。

农业与物产[edit]

潭头是福安农业经济占主导地位的乡镇。镇政府概况列出的主要经济作物是茶叶和芙蓉李，其中芙蓉李被当地称为「芙蓉李之乡」[1][3]。

名胜古迹[edit]

郭鸣琳墓在富罗坂村，属明代墓葬，修建于明崇祯十三年，即1640年。墓体朝东，平面近似「风」字，墓前依次立有神道碑、小牌坊和大牌坊[5][4]。2020年11月19日，福建省人民政府将其定为第十批省级文物保护单位[5][4]。

东坑佛塔在东坑村的佛塔岗上，博雅地名网称其为宋代石塔，七层四角，总高2.23米[4]。西坑村村头的一座宫，潭头镇概况称之为「西坑村水尾宫」，列为明嘉靖年间的古迹；博雅地名网则记为西坑祖宗宫，建于明嘉靖二十五年，即1546年。二者名称不一致，是否为同一座宫尚未核实[1][4]。

镇政府概况还列有朱禧「洗心台」、灯烛木拱廊桥和西坑虎岩山等人文古迹[1]。

荣誉[edit]

潭头镇在2024年1月获得「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」的命名[4]。
