东园社区在狮城镇城区东部，名称源于它位于县城东面。社区东侧到奇仙岗脚下，南面临302省道，北面与兴福社区接壤。[1][2]

2003年6月，城区的村委会与居委会整合，成立东园社区，下辖仙溪、东园、红亭、城东新村4个小区。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

境内的织女桥建于清康熙三十五年（1696年）七月，在302省道通车前，是县城通往宁德、福安的主要桥梁。[2]

东洋溪上的罗隐坝始建于明代，传说由仙人罗隐设计修建，是一座堆石栏水坝。[2]

境内古建筑还有谢氏宗祠、上瓮窑林公宫和周氏宗祠。社区内的人文景点包括塔山公园、仙溪文化广场和缘福公园。[2]
