赤水村位于赤水镇所在地，城乡分类属镇中心区，全村面积约30平方千米，共612户、2427人（博雅地名网所载，统计年份未注明）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是这样的：明朝时有人最早在此开基，住宅建在密林之中，称作「林兜」。后来人口渐多，毁林开田，溪河缺水，便引山涧水灌溉，水色如铁锈，村名因此取为赤水。[1]

1934年，村地归宁洋县第一区赤员香联保管辖，其后成为赤员香乡与赤水乡的一部分。新中国成立后，村地仍属宁洋县第一区赤水乡，1955年转入第四区。1956年宁洋县撤销，村地归漳平县，列入双洋区赤水乡。1957年撤区并乡，1958年成立赤水大队，隶东风公社。1961年赤水公社设立，村归其管。1984年起称赤水乡下的赤水村，1995年赤水撤乡建镇，村仍隶属之。[1]

村里在2025年5月进入福建省美丽乡村示范村的创建名单；2024年5月，村落获「漳平市民主法治示范村（社区）」的称号；2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予本村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]

地理环境[edit]

全村林地37414亩，耕地3447亩，其中水田3409亩、旱地88亩；另有茶叶300亩、毛竹2600亩。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村下辖3个自然村：钓竿岩、冬瓜盂、横坑。三个自然村合计44户、194人。辖区内另有外来人口230人，其中170人在两处矿场工作，60人从事零星基建务工。[1]
