赤水镇位于福建省龙岩市漳平市西北部，距市区56公里。东面与双洋镇相邻，西南接新罗区白沙镇，西北和北面与永安市的小陶镇、洪田镇接壤。全镇森林面积约25.1万亩，天台山国家森林公园的核心区在镇内；石灰石储量超过3亿吨，矿产、烤烟、水稻和毛竹是传统的几大支柱。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

赤水乡于1949年设立，隶宁洋县第一区；1955年归第四区管辖。1956年宁洋县被撤销，所辖之地并入漳平县双洋区。1957年撤区并乡，原赤水乡并入安坑乡。1958年划归东风公社，1961年自东风公社分出，另设赤水公社。1984年又恢复为乡，名为赤水乡；1995年3月改建为镇。[2]

环境保护部于2011年4月把「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号授予赤水镇。赤水镇于2020年12月获福建省爱卫办命名为「福建省卫生乡镇」。赤水镇列入「第二批福建省级乡村治理示范乡镇」名单，认定的单位是福建省农业农村厅，时间为2022年10月。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于漳平市西北部，山林广阔。全镇森林面积约25.1万亩，属天台山国家森林公园的核心区，是国家级生态乡镇、省级绿色乡镇。[1]

境内矿产以石灰石为主，石灰石储量超过3亿吨，另有煤矿以及磁铁矿、褐铁矿、铅锌矿等。[1]

人口民族[edit]

市政府网站所载，全镇户籍人口为7767人，另有常住人口5654人，统计年份未注明。镇内有党员519名，其中女性党员148名。[1]

经济[edit]

传统产业以矿产（石灰石）、烤烟、水稻、毛竹为主，近年百香果等特色农业发展起来。农作物还包括茶叶、香菇、茯苓。镇内的红狮水泥公司以境内石灰石为原料，赤水镇是其原料基地，其三期厂区也设在这里。[1]

文化[edit]

香寮村是明朝航海家、外交家王景弘的故里。镇政府依托「功德银行」党建品牌推动村民自治。[1][7]

香寮村于2013年8月被评为第二批中国传统村落。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇内名胜有穿云洞、风洞、天台庵，以及「凤翔千仞」摩崖石刻。其中穿云洞是一处石灰岩洞，位于岭兜村村口。[2][4]

著名人物[edit]

王景弘是明朝航海家、外交家，曾随郑和多次下西洋。他的出生地据百度百科为今香寮村许家山，维基百科则只写他是福建龙岩县人。[5][6]
