中田村属连城县宣和镇，村子地处山间，村名得自它的地形[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子坐落在大山坑里，两边皆为山头，中间有田有屋，因此取名中田。[1]

此地在1949年以前属黄文保，1949年初改属长汀十五区黄文乡；1956年划归连城后，归朋口区宣和乡。1958年并入黄文乡，隶宣和公社；1961年又并入朋口公社；1962年划出，改属宣和公社的中田大队。1984年建乡镇制后设中田村，归宣和乡；2021年撤乡设镇后归宣和镇。[1]

2021年11月，中田村获福建省爱卫办评为省级卫生村；2024年1月，该村获评2023年度龙岩市平安村居。[1]
