下湾村是福建省龙岩市新罗区江山镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的东北部，距镇政府约31公里，海拔约1120米，属老区革命基点村。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，此地原与上湾村合称“羊腿坑”和“中央坂”；因山体呈大弧弯，两村后分称“上湾”与“下湾”。[1]

清代此地叫大挖村。解放后隶属岭顶乡，1957年归万山乡，1958年改称大挖大队，隶万山公社，1959年改隶江山公社。1981年大挖分设上挖、下挖两个大队，1984年另立下挖村委会，属江山乡。[1]

2007年8月，因“挖”字的提土旁属生僻字，依地名规范化要求改名为下湾村。2011年7月起属江山镇。[1]
