陈村位于雁石镇西南部，地处山区，森林资源丰富。相传最早由陈姓族人在此定居，故名陈村。[1]

1958年分设为陈村大队，1984年改设陈村村委会。[1]

2021年1月，陈村名列「2020年度龙岩市平安村居（社区）」。[1]
