东阳村位于镇域东部，东邻东肖，西连紫安村和南阳村，距新罗城区中心约13千米。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

一说，村庄位于红坊墟场东面，因方位而得名。另一说，村中林姓最早迁来，其二世祖名林东洋，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国初，村属紫岗乡东阳保，后属紫金联保。解放初改属紫金乡。[1]

1956年组建东联高级农业社，1958年成立东联生产大队，1961年改称东阳生产大队，1967年改称红东大队；1984年改设东阳村民委员会。[1]

东阳村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。2026年1月，东阳村被确定为「福建省2026年度乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
