下沙村为浦城县莲塘镇所辖的一个行政村。村名来历：相传郑氏由广丰的沙田迁来，最初定居在下坊山边，于是取「沙田」「下坊」各一字，定名下沙。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明清属登云里，民国设下沙乡。1949年隶属第四区，1951年改属第二区，1956年为临江区下沙乡。1958年归城郊公社，称下沙大队；1961年改属莲塘公社。1984年设下沙村村民委员会，隶莲塘乡；1998年6月改属莲塘镇。[1]
