水西村是临江镇下辖的行政村，浦南高速公路与国道205线从村境穿过。村名源于村子位于永兴溪西侧。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属临江镇。1950年代先后隶属临江乡、第三区和临江区，1958年起隶属临江公社，1961年分出水西大队，1984年改为今名。[5]

水西村于2022年12月被福建省农业农村厅确定为「2022年度福建省一村一品专业村」（优质稻）。该村还曾获评「浦城县2023年度粮油生产先进村」。[1][3]

2012年，全村人均纯收入为4700元。[2]
