水南村是麻沙镇下辖的行政村，位于麻阳溪南岸，与镇政府隔河相望[1][2]。村名的来历是村庄位于麻阳溪之南[2]。村中以葡萄种植和村尾的楠木林为人所知，楠木林景区据称始建于唐末[5][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

村落据称始建于唐末[5]。宋至清代这里称南桥保，属永忠里；民国时仍设南桥保。1958年，村归麻沙公社，成为水南大队；1984年转设水南村村民委员会[2][3]。

地理与人口[edit]

村域面积16.17平方公里，共14个村民小组，计534户、2032人[2]。上世纪七十年代建的钢筋混凝土石拱桥跨越麻阳溪，连通两岸[2]。

产业[edit]

村民自上世纪80年代起在山坡地种植葡萄，2005年，村中创立「楠木林」葡萄品牌[3]。

名胜古迹[edit]

村尾的楠木林中有近万棵楠木，大小不一，相传由宋代蔡元定最先栽种[2][3]。该景区位于麻阳溪南侧，2017年前后被评定为「国家3A级旅游景区」[4]。

村内的麻沙蔡氏大宗祠原为清乾隆年间的建筑，2003年全面翻修，每年有海内外蔡氏后裔前来祭祖[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年11月，农业农村部于此推介水南村为「2019年中国美丽休闲乡村」；2019年12月，村子入选「第一批国家森林乡村」；2021年2月，司法部与民政部公布其为「第八批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」；2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号；2023年11月，获评「第三批全国乡村治理示范村」；2025年3月，被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」[2]。
