永安社区位于潭城街道，在麻阳溪中段一带，面积约0.5平方公里，地处市区繁华地段。[1]

地名与历史沿革[edit]

社区名称来自昔日一座永安石碑坊，取安居乐业、永保平安之意。[1] 解放前此地称永安保，解放后设永安街居委会；1966年曾改名东风街居委会，1973年恢复永安街之名；2003年5月组建为永安社区居民委员会。[1]

辖区概况[edit]

辖区内有日潭庄苑、中山广场和铁井栏三个小区，主要道路有人民路、中山路、西桥北路和民主北路。[1]
