西塘村位于南平、古田、尤溪三地交界处，316国道横贯全村，辖五个自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据1993年《南平市志·地名志》，村中一个自然村的祖房门前原有池塘，称西家塘，后改称西塘。[1]

1934年时此地称峰洋保，隶属新溪乡；1946年划归樟湖镇，1950年归高洲乡。此后又经西塘乡、高洲公社等变动，1963年改称西塘大队，1984年设村委会。[1]

2020年12月，西塘村入选2020年福建省森林村庄；2021年6月，列入第四批省级传统村落名单。[1]
