南坑街道位于芗城区东北部，东面与龙文区相邻，南面连着巷口街道，西面与通北街道、东铺头街道相接，北面与石亭街道毗邻。辖区面积为16.03平方千米。[2][3][4]

2020年人口普查时，街道常住人口为10.42万人。[3] 据百度百科，2021年2月总人口为62646人，外来人口为12705人。[4]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖十三年（1534年），这一带属古城北厢，下设两条街。[4]

1982年7月8日，经省人民政府批准组建南坑街道，名称借用附近南坑村的名字；1983年2月7日街道办事处正式成立。[2][3]

1985年，漳州市升格为地级市，而原来的漳州市改成了芗城区，本街道此后归芗城区管辖。[3]

环境保护部于2014年9月把「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予南坑街道。[2]

2022年11月，利民社区成立。区民政局在2023年12月发布的统计表中列出全街道21个社区，利民社区便是其中2022年新设的一个。[1]

地理环境[edit]

街道内的主干道有漳福路、腾飞路、胜利路，另有延安北路、元光北路和新华北路，纵横相交，构成路网。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

中国女排三连冠纪念碑立于新华北路与漳福路交叉口一带，立意是纪念女排在1982年世锦赛、1981年世界杯与1984年奥运会上夺冠。施工始于1984年7月，1986年竣工；主体为女排队员塑像、顶端托球的三棱碑柱，碑后另有门楼式大型壁画。[5]

2021年公布的芗城区第一批区级文物保护单位中，有这座纪念碑。[2]
