东田村是东田镇政府驻地所在的行政村，村委会设在欧厝，聚落分布在东田溪西岸的河谷盆地上。[1][2]村子的名字与镇名同出一源，村内有宋代的后垅山窑址。[1][3]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网的记载，村名与唐末黄巢义军驻扎凤巢、登上芹山的传说有关：黄巢望见东侧的良田，认为此处是兵家必争之地，后人便以此怀念他，取名东田。另一种说法则认为是因芹山东侧的良田而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元、明、清时期这里属南安二十八都，民国时设东田、烟山两联保。解放后成为东田乡的一部分，隶属第二区。1958年改称东田人民公社东田大队，1984年复设东田乡的村委会，1991年改属东田镇。[2]

文化遗存[edit]

后垅山窑址在村内，属宋代古遗址，列为泉州市文物保护单位。[3]
