下村位于上涌镇西部，地处九仙山下，距县城57公里，与乡政府相隔约12公里[1]。全村面积5.37平方千米，辖3个自然村[1]。据博雅地名网，村名来源于它处在桂林片末端的位置[1]。2026年1月，县政府批复撤销下村村民委员会，并入新设的伴林村[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

清代此地属上涌团，民国初依清制；1935年编入桂涌乡的门头保；1950年归第四区桂林乡，1956年并入星峰高级社[1]。1958年设下村大队，隶属上涌公社。其间一度与中洋合并为红村大队，之后分出并恢复原名。1984年改设下村村委会，隶属上涌乡；此后撤乡建镇，称上涌镇下村村[1]。

著名人物[edit]

清代有赖吉脑、赖承池等人，民国期间赖承慰曾任大田县师爷[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2025年3月，村庄被认定为「2024年度德化县乡村发展工作机制进步村」[1]。
