桂林村位于九仙山北麓，原属上涌乡北部，海拔约800米，与中洋、传豪、桂格三村相邻，距县城50多公里[1]。全村面积2.83平方千米，下辖2个自然村、6个村民小组[1]。村名的由来是，此地旧时林木茂密，俗称“半林”，后村民多植桂树，遂改雅称“桂林”[1]。2026年1月，县政府批复撤销桂林村民委员会，与中洋、下村、门头、东山四村合并设立伴林村[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

宋明时期属常平乡上涌团，清代归汤泉里的桂林社，民国初依清制。1935年编为桂涌乡的桂林保；1951年设桂林乡，1956年一度编成中队，划入星峰高级社[1]。1958年设立桂林大队，隶属上涌公社；1984年改设桂林村委会，隶属上涌乡；2001年以后撤乡建镇，改称上涌镇桂林村[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年6月，村庄入选「福建省第四批省级传统村落」[1]。
