赤水社区是赤水镇的镇中心区，即赤水街所在地，下辖6个居民小组，居民多以经商为生。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，此地属集贤乡新化里的一个社；民国初年沿用清朝的编制，1935年编为锦水保，隶属第三区赤水乡。[2]

1950年改由工商联合会管理，划入第五区赤水乡；1958年归赤水大队，1984年设赤水居民委员会，属赤水乡。[2]

1992年7月乡制取消、改设镇；2002年原居委会撤销，改设社区居委会，归赤水镇领导。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办授予赤水社区「2021年福建省卫生社区」称号。[1]
