湖边村位于东岭镇，村名的源头是一处泻湖：柳氏的福一公迁到湖畔定居，最初叫柳湖边，之后简称湖边[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

这里原先归惠安县黄坑埔三十都管辖。1941年划入涂寨乡；新中国成立后改属惠安县三区。1958年实行公社化，湖边成为飞跃公社下的生产大队；1961年东岭人民公社设立，它归其下管理。1984年设村民委员会，1990年至1992年间曾改称村公所，1992年后恢复原先的名称[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

湖边庵公宫，即普庵文佛宫，在湖边自然村，始建于清代，1990年重建。宫为二进五开间的硬山式建筑，坐东北向西南[1]。

文化[edit]

2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」[1]。
