三村是东岭镇的行政村，村名出自民国时期的旧称：东岭附近一带村民习惯把东炉、东埔和下村合称三村[1]。1985年，这里从原有的大队中析出，另设村委会，仍沿用原来的名称[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期这一带属二十九都蔡宅铺，民国时属东岭乡。1949年冬起属三区（东岭）和东岭区；1958年起先后属飞跃公社和东岭公社。1985年，此地从原来的所属单位中分出，成立三村村委会，归东岭乡管理；乡改镇后（1989年）随之归镇管[1]。

文化[edit]

2024年1月，被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，被认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2021年2月，入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单[1]。
