水南村地处濉溪河南岸，村名取自它位于濉溪之南的位置。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

水南之名始于南唐中兴元年（958），当年永安场升为建宁县，此地遂称水南。[2] 民国时期设水南保。1931年6月，水南乡设立革命委员会，次年11月选出水南乡苏维埃政府。[2] 新中国成立后，新中国成立后，村里于1950年设立村委员会，次年又设水南乡人民政府。1958年转归溪口人民公社，其后一段时间并入建宁综合农场管理，1991年才重新有了综合农场下属的村委会。[2] 2007年起，村委会隶属濉溪镇。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年11月，村庄获评「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，又被列入「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」名单。[1]
