水南村属杉城镇，位于泰宁城区西南，在大金湖河畔。东与胜一村接壤，西与吕家坊村交界，北邻民主村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年12月至1951年12月设水南街政府，隶属一区；1958年起称水南生产大队，归红旗公社；1980年归杉城公社。1984年9月起为村民委员会，归杉城镇。[2]

古寺与革命旧址[edit]

村中的罗汉寺始建于明代，是一座规模较大的古寺。1933年8月，红军东方军进驻泰宁，其司令部就设在城区金富街的罗汉寺内。[1][3]

2013年名录登记水南罗汉寺（明代古建筑）、水南东方军总部旧址（1933年，县级文物保护单位）、水南小均坳窑址（宋代古遗址）和水南邹应龙墓（宋代，县级文物保护单位）。[4]
