田背村位于淮土镇，村中各自然村都在一片田垄的背后，村名由此而来。[1]

2021年11月，村子获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建国前夕归石壁管辖。建国初属二区田背乡，1958年改隶凤山公社，设田背连。[1]

1961年仍属凤山公社；1966年划归淮土公社，合为田背大队；1984年设田背村民委员会，隶属淮土乡。[1]
