城东社区位于凤岗街道东部，2006年8月成立，辖区面积1.2平方千米。社区东至祥和路、新城东路和长兴路，北至金沙东路，南至鹰厦铁路。名称取自它位于县城东部。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

2006年8月，城东社区居民委员会成立。此次整合撤销了春晖社区，并将原东门社区铁路以北的景山新村一带划入城东社区。[2]

人口[edit]

社区内有居民小组20个，住户3654户。社区常住人口约13498人，流动人口为421户、1263人，户籍在册的有5646人。[1]

荣誉[edit]

城东社区于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办命名，称号为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[2]
