潭头村隶属福建省莆田市仙游县石苍乡，位于乡域西南部，距乡政府驻地约5公里，海拔500米，是革命基点村。白凫溪从村中流过，溪中有一深潭，村落因此分为上潭、下潭两部分。[1][2]

全村设441户，共1600口人（男845，女755）；村委会管3个自然村，下分12个村民小组。[1]
