东井村位于大济镇东南部，地势北低南高，下辖5个自然村。村名来自1962年当地大旱时村民多处挖井取水。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村域北部低、南部高，耕地与林果地兼有，以林果为主。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2010年时，村中1173户，4287人；男女分别为2262人与2025人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地归善化乡；1950年划入大济区，1956年改属城关区，1958年并入大济人民公社。1962年分出一个东井大队，1984年设东井村村民委员会，归大济乡管辖。[1]

经济[edit]

2024年9月，村庄被认定为「2024年莆田市一村一品专业村」，主导产业为奇楠沉香。[1]

2022年12月，村庄由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[2]

文化[edit]

东井瑞湖宫位于淡坑自然村，为仙游县一般不可移动文物点，保护范围为建筑本体四周各向外延伸5米。[2]
