龙西村原属龙洞乡，由其西部分出设村，村中的昭灵祖宫是涵江区公布的第八批区级文物保护单位。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村落位于原龙洞乡的西部，由该乡分离出来，故名龙西。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村民先祖在宋代由河南迁来定居。1984年以前称龙西大队，1984年改设龙西村委会，隶属莆田县白沙镇；2002年起属涵江区白沙镇。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

昭灵祖宫在龙西村，宋代已有建筑，乾隆三十七年（1772年）重建，20世纪90年代修缮，保持清代风貌，屋顶为歇山式，面阔五间。主殿左右在20世纪90年代加建了妈祖庙和问津亭。其身份为涵江区公布的第八批区级文保。[3]
