桂林村是福建省厦门市翔安区新圩镇下辖的行政村。七里、后寮、园下、前边、草埔宫与桂林，计6个自然村。村内的境仕院遗址为宋代寺庙遗址，在七里自然村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

此地原植松林，因风沙干旱，树木难以长大，人们戏称其为「鬼林」。近村的人来林边扒取落叶，又在林边挂柴篮，故称「挂篮」，后来雅化为「桂林」。[1]

清代属同禾里七里保，民国后期（1943年）此地归民石乡的桂林保管辖。1950年设桂林乡，隶第六区，1956年归诗林乡。1959年改为布塘公社的桂林大队，1961年转属新圩公社。1984年设桂林村委会，隶新圩乡；1988年归新圩镇。[1]

文化[edit]

2025年5月，桂林村被认定为「2025年厦门市“一村一品”专业村」，所列产品为「国潮甜点（闽南传统手工美食）」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

境仕院遗址在七里自然村东北部，位于「出米岩」西面的山麓，当地正在兴建的「大觉禅寺」西南约80米处，为宋代寺庙遗址。遗址地表为龙眼林。村民挖树坑时，地下发现了砖块、地面砖与墙基。[2]

墙基共四层，贴面的波纹砖上为双凤题材的花纹，并发现柱础石一块。此寺早先称洞宫（唐宫），因一位学者在寺中隐居，才改名境仕院。相传寺中原有99名武僧，属南少林一脉。[2]
