西洋村位于五显镇西南部，村委会驻岭下。清代这里有东洋、西洋两个村社，后来东洋成为废村，西洋则沿用为这一片村落的名称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代以前村地属长兴里一至三都安岭保，1943年归长兴乡西洋保，1950年为西洋乡。[1][2]

其后，1959年称西洋大队，1960年一度改名新城大队，1964年隶属果园公社。1980年恢复西洋大队之名，1984年改称西洋村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年12月，西洋村获「2022年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
