北洋村位于东桥镇的北面，村前是一片平坦的洋面田，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属奉政乡安仁里，元代属二十二都的北阳一带，明代与二十都等六个都合编为一个图，清代为怀德乡的一个村，民国时隶属下洋乡的下宅保。[2]

新中国成立后的头几年，村子归第二区南宅乡（1950至1954年）；1955年转为东桥区南宅乡的一部分，1956年并入东桥乡。1958年归火箭公社，独立设为北洋大队；1959年一度并入另一大队；1961年复设北洋大队。1984年东桥乡政府设立，北洋成为其属下的村民委员会，1991年起归东桥镇管辖。[2]

1994年，村内一个自然村分出，单独设立村民委员会。[2]
