西洋村位于碧里乡西北部，距乡政府8公里，是全乡唯一的非沿海村，村域面积27平方千米，辖9个自然村[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村子在1984年由大队改为村委会，此前的大队于1958年由乡改设而来。1950年这里设有西洋乡，属第三区[3]。再往前，明清时村址隶属贤二里，民国时期的管辖关系频繁变动[3]。

地理环境[edit]

村名的来历是：附近另有三个村庄坐落在河谷的小盆地里，连成三点之形，本村居西，故名西洋[2]。

经济[edit]

山地种植是村里的支柱产业。食用菌以香菇为主，种植已有二十多年，村子是罗源县最大的香菇栽培基地[4]。茶叶种植历史悠久，村内有一家有机茶企业，产品销往国内大中城市；近年来又发展起花卉苗木[4]。

文化[edit]

2019年12月，村子入选第一批「国家森林乡村」；2020年12月，又入选2019年度「福建省“一村一品”示范村」（花卉）[1]。2022年12月，村子被确定为2022年度「福州市中级版绿盈乡村」；2023年2月，列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单[1]。
