江南镇位于福建省福州市连江县南部，临敖江中下游南岸，是县城中心城区的组成部分。1997年8月，敖江南岸一带的村庄划出另设乡；2020年6月，乡改为镇，下辖2个社区和14个行政村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

地名取自所在位置，因镇域处于敖江南岸而得名。[2]

此前这些村庄长期归敖江镇管辖，1997年8月起另设江南乡。[1][3]

2020年6月，乡级建制改为镇级，原有的行政区域保持不变。[2]

地理环境[edit]

镇域以平原与丘陵山地为主，辖区土地面积75.18平方千米。[1][4]

境内有杭福深铁路连江站，连江动车站设在花坞村。新104国道于2024年2月通车。[1][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

覆釜山、狮山、文笔山、玉华山等山位于辖区内，金福寺、玉楼寺、云居寺、梅峰境等古迹也在镇域之内。[1]

省级文物保护单位含光塔位于文新村，为明代古建筑。[1][5]

荣誉称号[edit]

国家级生态乡镇的称号（2012年至2013年度）于2014年9月由环境保护部授予江南镇。[2]

2021年2月公布的「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单中有江南镇。[2]

江南镇于2022年12月获福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名，称号为「2022年福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]

政府网站另列「第十四届福建省文明乡镇」「2020年度连江县先进单位」「连江县推动经济社会高质量发展先进集体」等荣誉，未注授予时间。[1]
