地名由来[edit]

村址原是闽江水冲积出的新沙洲，先民从桔园洲迁来定居，村名因此叫新洲。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

上街新洲金氏宗祠，祠中的金氏家族是彭城金氏的一个支系，唐末入闽。[2]

新洲金将军庙坐东朝西，面对旗山，背靠闽江，其建筑面积为1500多平方米，平面三进，中设两个天井。[2]
