潭头镇隶属福建省福州市长乐区，位于闽江口南岸、长乐区东北部，北隔闽江与琅岐岛相望，辖23个行政村。镇名“潭头”据称与江岸港湾的地势有关。[1][2]

镇内有闽江河口湿地、晦翁岩等自然与人文景观。文石村的登文道码头列入福州市文物保护单位名单，过去是长乐学子进京应考和商客出海的码头。[3][4][8][9]

历史沿革[edit]

民国二十四年（1935年）设立潭头乡。1949年8月解放后，1950年设潭头区公所，1955年并入上白石区公所，1959年复设。1964年改为潭头人民公社，其后先后称革命委员会、管理委员会，1984年改称潭头乡政府。[3][11]

1992年，经福建省人民政府批准撤销潭头乡，设立潭头镇，名称沿用至今。[3]

境内各村多曾隶属芳桂乡，解放后分设为今天的行政村。1933年，闽中红军游击队在厚福乡一带设立海上交通站，遗址在解放后已损毁。[10][11]

地理环境[edit]

镇域位于闽江入海口南岸，陆地面积约56平方千米，面向大海。闽江口湿地是候鸟迁徙通道上的重要停歇地，所在的湿地公园跨潭头、梅花两镇。[1][6]

人口与侨情[edit]

2017年潭头镇常住人口为43434人。[1]

镇内侨胞众多，旅居海外的华侨华人约2.3万人，长乐区政府称潭头为长乐的侨乡。[4]

经济[edit]

镇政府提出以农业稳镇，并按市场需求培育「长乐西芹」「长乐灰鹅」等农业品牌。[4]

文化[edit]

镇域文化遗存以寺庙、祠堂和岩洞为主。德成岩、晦翁岩、鳌峰岩、锦鲤岩等岩洞一带，另有龙山寺、文昌宫和天妃庙，龙峰禅寺、鳌峰禅寺也在其间。[4]

沙堤林氏、岭南陈氏、二刘刘氏、厚福林氏等宗族留有大宗祠堂。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

长乐闽江河口国家湿地公园地处闽江入海处，2015年12月31日获批设立，为国家级湿地公园。百度百科称景区为国家4A级旅游景区，博雅地名网则作国家3A级，两说不一。[5][6]

晦翁岩位于二刘村龙峰山上，原名龙峰岩。南宋庆元元年（1195年）朱熹曾寓居这里，后人因他的号称之为晦翁岩。[7]

文石村北侧海边的登文道码头于2020年1月列入「福州市第八批市级文物保护单位名单」。码头由条石铺成，相传郑和到长乐修建天妃庙时在此登陆，明清时期也是长乐学子进京应考的出发港。[8][9]

著名人物[edit]

长乐区人民政府的介绍称，唐代林慎思撰有《伸蒙子》《续孟子》。[4]

柯凌汉（1896～1985）字梅初，出生于岱西村，早年在福建私立法政专门学校学习法律。[3]

荣誉[edit]

环境保护部于2014年为潭头镇授予「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[3]

2021年2月，潭头镇入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[3]
