南香村在赤石河边，离镇行政中心约3公里，面积7.2平方公里，下设2个村民小组，人口890余人。海水养殖为主，对虾、膏蟹养殖逐步成形。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，1965年起归小漠公社，此前1960年在鹅埠公社名下，1959年在圆墩公社名下，1953年是鲘门区辖地，而最早的1952年，这里还从惠东县划出、编入海丰县四区。1966年先成立南君寮大队，1974年易名南香大队；1984年称南香乡，1987年起是村民委员会，1989年改叫办事处，1998年又恢复村民委员会的名称。[1]
2024年1月，南香村获定「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」；2026年3月，又入选「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
