东旺村地处沿海，与镇政府驻地相邻，占地5.1平方公里左右，分3个村民小组，人口1170多。村里靠海水养殖增加集体收入，多年下来形成了养对虾、养膏蟹的路子。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据博雅地名网，1965年起归小漠公社，此前1960年在鹅埠公社名下，1959年在圆墩公社名下，1953年是鲘门区辖地，而最早的1952年，这里还从惠东县划出、编入海丰县四区。东旺大队建于1974年；1984年称东旺乡，1987年起是村民委员会，1989年改叫办事处，到1998年又恢复村民委员会的名称，用到现在。[1]
2019年9月，东旺村成为「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位。[1]
