百美村在广东省梅州市蕉岭县长潭镇，位于石窟河以西，设11个村民小组，在册214户、770人，全村面积11.3平方公里，耕地394亩（据博雅地名网所载村情）。[1]
据说五百年前，一位双目失明的老人伯姆在此建庵，称伯姆庵；客家话里「伯姆」与「百美」音近，后人写作百美庵，再简称百美。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村里流传：伯姆收养了一个儿子，儿子长大后开垦了许多田地。一次他拿坏了的犁头去修，被路人看见，路人骗伯姆说他捡了一只鳖独自吃了；伯姆一怒之下把儿子赶走，自己建庵居住。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国十年（1921年）作百美庵，归白马乡。1950年起称村，1958年编入长潭公社为大队，1983年设百美乡，之后与别的村一样经历了村委会、管理区，1999年定称村委会。[1]
荣誉与经济[edit]
百美村以金桔为主，2020年8月列入广东省农业农村厅公布的首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单；2019年12月入选第一批国家森林乡村。村里也产蜂蜜。[1]
