村的名称由人民政府在新中国成立后确定，先叫七联大队，1989至1992年叫七联管理区，1993年起为七联村委会[1]。

人口与经济[edit]

博雅地名网记，村内常住320户、1400多人，外来人口4000多人，总人口约6000多人；中外合资和三来一补企业40多家[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，村进入2018年度广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位之列；2023年4月进入2022年度广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位；2023年11月，成为广东“百千万工程”第一批典型镇村之一[1]。

文化[edit]

江南街道概况称，七联村有龙舟民俗，并有木雕研创基地；该村正围绕津头湖建设渔家文化村[2]。津头湖是村下辖的一个村民小组，据百度百科，清乾隆年间高姓先祖从梅州五华一带沿江迁来定居，村民传统上以捕鱼为生，近年建有渔家文化馆、渔人码头和沿江步道，并举办渔家文化节[3]。
