人民公社化的1958年，设尚书堂大队，辖今尚书堂与官塘两处，1961年官塘分出，另设大队。其后1983年称尚书堂乡，到1987年，改设村民委员会，1989年再改为管理区办事处，1999年起，恢复村民委员会之名[1]。
